Halloween Spider Web Tutu

In light of my daughters black and orange day at daycare I decided to make them some outfits. Since I just got a big order of tulle in I have been going crazy with it. I have had this idea around for a while, just wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. Well then it hit me. Make it be spider webs with spiders. She says she is so happy and can't wait to wear it. Still going to make a shirt to go with it, maybe some pants too. ENJOY!!

Baby Doll Stroller Makeover

So my middle girl, Victoria, came to me on the weekend and was crying. I asked why, and she just showed me her broken stroller. Since all of our kids are a year apart for Christmas we thought it would be a good idea to get Victoria her own stroller since her and Elizabeth love the one stroller we had. We didn't want a plastic one, and wanted one similar to the one we had. Well not wanting to spend another $60 on a stroller and all the accessories we found the stroller for $6. We got it and she loved it. Well while pushing her potatoes around, yes I did say potatoes, the material just ripped and there was no longer a seat for the potatoes or dolls to sit. Tonight I grabbed some material I haven't packed up yet and away I went. She went nuts when she seen it. I still have some material left so matching diaper/handbag to come. I think though I might add some side Velcro bands so that it doesn't fold in.

So for all you that think once a toy is broken, just think how you can recreate that toy. The material I used I think cost me a whole $2. There was nothing wrong with the structure, just the material was crap and the stitching didn't hold at all. Could have to do with my Victoria and her potatoe babies.

Skirt into a Child Dress

My Skirt into a Dress
So as I am getting things packed away tonight for our move. My oldest was helping me. Well she hit the closet and guess what, out comes all my clothing. She is very into dress up. She reallys likes purple and grabbed a skirt of mine that I bought oh I'd say 8 or so years ago and have barely worn. I pinned it up and she was wearing it around for about an hour atleast. Well my packing ended and I was on a hunt for some sewing items. Once I found them I convinced her to give me the skirt and I would make it into a dress for her. Well after about a 20 minutes it was done and sge was jumping around say, "I love my mommy dress. My mommy makes it."

Wonder do you notice the thread colour change?

Did I mention I am packing for a move. Used what I could find. Hey didn't know how it would turn out, was just messing around. Once I find my ribbon I will most likely add some straps.
